Our History

Since 1948

Bill and Georgie Hay’s dog Sissy sniffed out a “For Sale” sign on a bluff overlooking Haystack Rock, inspiring the idea for the Resort.

Through the Years

The couple soon turned the site into a pet-friendly, family-owned retreat, and a return destination for generations of travelers.

Employee Owned

In 2016, the family owners sold 30% of the company to full-time employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Today

We're proud to be a part of our coastal community, and hope Cannon Beach becomes part of your own family’s tradition.
